month: October 2009

Cookies, cookies, and more cookies, school fight songs, and kids who could really break dance.   This was a party and a half!  Not only did I gain 5 lbs from the cookies Leah and Sean sent me home with, but I had a blast taking pictures of this group.  The festivities were held at the Savage Mill Manor, another great mansion for weddings and receptions.

Set in beautiful downtown Annapolis, this wedding was a color splash.  The walk to the church at St John’s College was perfect, and the reception at the Governor Calvert House made it clear that this is a couple that likes to have fun!  Friends and family were almost giddy with good wishes for the happy couple, who have been together for eight years.

We still feel serious empathy for the bridesmaid who broke her toe halfway through the day, and still toughed it out.  That’s -gotta- hurt.

In spite of raining cats and dogs the night before, the weather help up beautifully for Charis and DuWayne’s wedding at the Gramercy Mansion.  It made for a gorgeous ceremony followed by some serious dancing at the reception!  The kids had a blast.

I love the Gramercy Mansion.  It’s just a perfect location, and without fail,  every wedding I shoot there is a winner.  Mike and Yolanda are the kind of cute couple that are oblivious to all else–while being unfailingly polite.  He was ear to ear smiles all day and she was giggling into her flowers.  While photographing their portraits, I could hear her whispering “I love you so much” to him, eyes just shining.  Who says there’s hate in the world?  These two made me feel like anything was possible.

Even though it had rained cats and dogs the day before, Jen and Ben were up for hiking around  Lake Roland.    It was a bit muddy but I think it was worth it.

They look forward to their March wedding in Delaware!
